WOOF
WOOF conveys personal and pensive thoughts experienced by the artist. These thoughts are initially doleful, but, as the video progresses, they become more buoyant. The footage and music used in the work are royalty-free material. Most of the imagery consists of dogs, making it seem as if they, instead of the artist, are contemplating and experiencing what is being narrated. The artist intended on personifying dogs and what they could possibly think to give their seemingly transparent nature more complexity. The narration is the artist reciting a brief text that she wrote for this project. The text is divided into four paragraphs; the first letter of each paragraph spells out “WOOF,” hence the title and dog theme. This word is eventually displayed at the end of the video to reveal a connection between the title and the content.

Memphis-esque
"Memphis-esque" (2019) is an abstract animation pays homage to Memphis art with simple geometric shapes,a flat colors, line variation, and abstract squiggles. It was created in Adobe After Effects with assets that the artist created in Adobe Illustrator. The elements move and interact with one another as the camera slowly scrolls vertically down the composition. The animation can be looped due to the static components that appear at the beginning and ending of the piece.

Ortus et Occasus
Ortus et Occasus, which translates to “Rising and Setting,” loosely depicts the cycle of dealing with a destructive disorder like trichotillomania. In lieu of missing hair and other shocking representations, the artist decided to utilize the imagery of flowers in order to create a metaphor for something otherwise considered grotesque; said imagery includes flowers blooming, being plucked, and wilting. The easygoing music in the work is meant to put the viewer in a trance; this is like the trance that an addict enters when succumbing to their fixation. While it is the artist’s intention to have this experience be reminiscent of her struggles with trichotillomania, the feelings encountered can be applicable to any addiction that may resonate with the viewer.

Persona 5 Typography
I have always been interested in typography. After using After Effects in my 2D Tweening class and familiarizing myself with it, I decided to create a typography lyric video for the song "Last Surprise" from the video game Persona 5. I have always been captivated by the aesthetic of Persona 5 and wanted to capture it in the video: I used fonts that are seen in the game; I also maintained a color palette of only black, red, and white.
